Description
This course will help you build confidence and become an active member of your local community.
You will be able to communicate better using a combination of lipreading and basic British Sign Language signs. It is also a very effective technique for anyone who's first language is English. You will learn a variety of techniques, different ways to communicate, knowledge of equipment, finger spelling and more to enable better communication in a one to one and group settings, this could help remove feelings of isolation.
Who is this course for?
This course is for people with hearing loss and their surrounding people, family, friends and carers. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. We will use group work and discussion about relevant topics. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
You may want to bring something to make notes.
