Description
This course will help you build confidence and become an active member of your local community.
This introductory course will help you to be able to communicate better using a combination of lipreading and basic British Sign Language signs.
You will learn a range of everyday signs, fingerspelling, greetings, common phrases, and different ways to communicate, knowledge of equipment, and more to enable better communication that can be used in home, work, in a one to one and group settings, this could help remove feelings of isolation.
Who is this course for?
This course is for people with hearing loss and their surrounding people, family, friends and carers. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. We will use group work and discussion about relevant topics. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
You may want to bring something to make notes.

This is a free course and there are no further costs.
