Description
A fun and friendly course where you can explore creativity, learn new textile skills and support your mental wellbeing. Through stitching, fabric art and hands-on creative activities, you'll have the chance to relax, express yourself, build confidence, and connect with others. As part of Derbyshire Makes, you'll help create inspiring artwork that will be showcased in a public exhibition in Spring 2027. No experience is needed, just a willingness to give it a go!
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you'd like to improve your wellbeing through creativity, learn new textile skills, and meet other people in a welcoming and supportive group. Whether you're feeling stressed, isolated, lacking confidence, or simply looking for a positive creative activity, you'll be encouraged to explore textile art at your own pace. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to have a go and be part of a creative project that will be exhibited as part of Derbyshire Makes in Spring 2027.
How will I learn?
You will learn through hands-on creative activities, practical demonstrations, group discussions, and individual support from your tutor. You'll explore a range of textile techniques, experiment with different materials, and develop your own ideas in a relaxed and supportive environment.
What will I need?
You don't need any previous experience or specialist equipment. All materials and resources will be provided. Just bring yourself, a willingness to get creative, and an open mind to try new activities in a friendly and supportive environment.

This is a free course, there are no other costs.

Derbyshire Makes: This course is part of Derbyshire Makes, a county-wide celebration of creativity. You'll have the chance to contribute to artwork that will be exhibited in Spring 2027 and be part of a project showcasing local creativity and community.
